Exercising at Home

Contrary to popular belief, one does not need to go to the gym just to have a lean physique. While specialised machines and qualified aerobic trainers might do a terrific job, there are certain activities that can be done in the comfort of your own home that will still help you achieve your fitness goals. Along with a balanced diet, you might want to try out the following.

  • Stretching exercises

Start by standing with your feet parted slightly and both hands planted firmly on the wall. Be sure to move your left leg back so that your foot is flat against the floor. Hold the said position for a few seconds before repeating it on the right leg.

  • Arm Exercises

Using an exercise band, plant both feet firmly on one end of the apparatus. Next, grasp the other end with one hand and then raise and lower your arm, meaning you pull and then relax. Do this motion for 10-15 minutes then switch to your other arm.

  • Curl and Leg Exercises

Start by simply lying comfortably on your back with both hands behind your head, allowing you to raise your upper body, repeating at about 15-20 times per set. As for leg exercises, lie down on your side and lift each leg repeatedly for 15-20 times. Another alternative would be to stand and hold on to the back of a chair while you lift your legs backward repeatedly.

All these will help you build stronger muscles, become healthier, and avoid the trouble of commuting to the gym.
